Terms of use

Clear boundaries before an engagement begins.

These terms cover use of the public website and inquiry process. Any accepted paid engagement will have separate scope and payment terms.

Effective and last reviewed: September 5, 2026

Site operator and acceptance

FBAR HQ is operated by Iterative Systems LLC and Chip Moreno. By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not submit the inquiry form.

General information only

The website provides general educational and service information. It is not legal advice, penalty defense, a willfulness determination, audit or examination representation, Form 8938 preparation, an income-tax return, or foreign-country advice. Content cannot account for every definition, exception, special notice, or individual fact.

Chip Moreno is not an attorney, certified public accountant, or enrolled agent. His current IRS PTIN is an identifying number, not a professional license or certification.

No government affiliation

FBAR HQ and Iterative Systems LLC are not affiliated with or endorsed by the IRS, FinCEN, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, or any government agency. References and links to government forms or guidance are provided for context.

An inquiry is not an engagement

Sending a message does not create a client, preparer, fiduciary, representative, or other professional relationship. It does not obligate FBAR HQ to accept work, reserve a filing deadline, monitor your obligations, or treat an email as an emergency request. An engagement begins only when scope, terms, and any required acceptance steps are expressly confirmed.

Published preparation pricing

Standard individual preparation is priced per filer and per reporting year: 1–5 accounts at $100; 6–15 accounts at $150; 16–25 accounts at $225. These prices apply only to accepted, straightforward matters in the stated scope. More than 25 accounts, delinquent or amended reports, entity filings, uncertain obligations, and complex facts require a consultation and separate scope.

The $100 consultation covers a 30 minutes session. It is separate from preparation and is not credited toward later work. A consultation does not guarantee a preparation engagement or a particular conclusion.

What a preparation fee covers

For an accepted in-scope engagement, the published preparation fee covers the described information review, preparation, client review, required authorization process, authorized electronic submission when that role is confirmed, and the available filing confirmation. FinCEN’s system does not charge an individual a direct transmission fee for self-filing; FBAR HQ’s fee is for professional service.

Your responsibilities

You remain legally responsible for supplying complete, accurate, and timely information; reviewing the prepared filing; raising omissions or errors; signing or completing required authorizations; retaining records; and protecting applicable deadlines even when another person prepares or submits an FBAR for you. Do not submit sensitive information through the public form.

No outcome or ranking guarantee

FBAR HQ does not guarantee acceptance of an engagement, an agency outcome, absence of penalties, uninterrupted website availability, delivery time by third-party services, or any search-engine ranking. External links may change without our control.

Website content and changes

Original FBAR HQ text, graphics, and branding may not be republished as if they were yours. You may use normal links to public pages. We may update site content, published prices, scope rules, providers, and these terms prospectively. A specific accepted engagement is governed by the terms confirmed for that engagement.

Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains how the public inquiry and hosting providers process information. These terms and that policy should be read together.
